Things We Hide from the Light by Lucy Score: Review
After Things We Never Got Over became a fan favorite on Booktok, everyone was on their toes to find out who the second book would be about. Most, including myself, were hoping for a Lucian and Sloane book but when the author announced that this would be Nash and Lina's book, all the readers were very disappointed.
When the second book was finally released on the 21st of February 2023 after months of anticipation, many read it immediately. From what I had heard about the second book in the Konckemout series, Things We Hide from the Light was a big flop compared to the first book Things We Never Got Over. I think other wise.
Summary
The books stars Nash Morgan, the twin brother of the male love interest in the first book and Lina Solavita, a friend of the two main love interests in Things We Never Got Over. Nash is still trying to get his memory back after he suddenly got shot but he's finding it harder than he thought. When Lina abruptly moves in next door to Nash, they try to stay clear of each other but it's a bit difficult when living in a small town which lives off of gossip.
The Plot
It took me a while to truly understand where the plot of this book was going because the characters hated each other but at the same time they didn't which I found a bit messy, but hey, that's the beauty of enemies to lovers. There were many of my favorite tropes in this book which include Enemies to Lovers, Forced Proximity and Found Family. I definitely do think that there is no way of someone rapping their mind around this book if they haven't read the first one since the main plot from that book drags on to this one. Although the book was well over 500 pages, I ate it up! Some people believe that Lucy Score's books are unnecessarily long but that's just a personal opinion. If you like her writing style and have your head deep in the book, you won'teven notice.
The Characters
Nash Morgan
In the first book, Nash was such an annoying character and definitely one of my least favorite, but he won my heart over in this book! This book really showed his struggles and trauma from various past events and it was so easy to understand him. I went from hating him to loving him. I hate to admit it but he is probably my favorite brother out of the two.
Lina Solavita
We first meet Lina near the end of the first book. To be honest I though that a relationship between her and Nash would be really weird since her and Knox (Nash's brother) used to "go out" when they were younger. But, it really wasn't. This book showed how a friendship between a male and a female can be formed because there was definitely an unbreakable friendship between Knox and Lina. Their friendship was one of my favorite things throughout the entire book! I simply loved how over protective the two brothers are over her, both in their own different ways.
The character development in this book was just *chefs kiss*.
Mark your calendars everyone because the third book, Things We Left Behind , is expected to be published on the 5th of September 2023 and we just know that it's going to be a good one based off of what Lucy Score has told us!

P.S. Lucian's book? *wipes sweat from forehead* *shoves computer into freezer to keep it from overheating*
